That feeling after a successful shoulder dislocation reduction...

The reaction when one of the residents reminds our attending during morning sign-out that they were giving our lecture later that day...

In clinic, when my morbidly obese patient starts going into detail about how their surgery has affected their sex life...

(The med students are sitting in the front)

I can attest that this is the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery's official stance on dermatologists...

Whenever I try and say something reassuring to a nervous patient before their surgery, it always comes out like...

When there's a hip fracture and the ED resident gets the correct xrays, labs, EKG, chest xray, and calls MOD for admit...

In the morning when I have a beautiful post reduction adult both bone forearm xray up on the bigscreen and my attending starts to move onto the next patient....

What I generally assume took place when the patient has a weird pelvic fracture pattern...

When I'm on call and my wife texts me that she's taking the kids to the grocery store...

When I'm deciding how much dilaudid to write for a patient...

This just perfectly sums up most days of 2nd year ortho residency...

When the team starts showing up at 6AM and I can't exit out of my pandora station which is currently playing a 'thumbs up'ed' selena gomez song...

So I was running yesterday and was listening to pitbull's 'Give me everything tonight' (don't judge me!), and I started thinking about how a parody titled 'Let's reduce this thing tonight' might be easy to write...  and that's when medical school's second year creation came back to mind.

Rules:
1. It's more than 4 years old, past the statute of limitations for making fun of me.
2. The singings atrocious, I'm aware of this, see rule #1 post comma.
3. It was recorded with a friends imac microphone and garage band, also rule 1.
4.  There was originally going to be an accompanying music video, but... ya know...orthopaedic surgery and stuff.

Alright peeps, enjoy:

When at the end of the history, a patient adds a symptom consistent with cauda equina thus forcing me to do a rectal exam....

How I feel most of the time as a resident with 3 kids...

When one of the residents presents a near anatomic tibia reduction...

When I get a patient call in the middle of the night requesting i call in a scrip for oxycontin...

Most mornings after i'm on call...

When a co-resident describes an unconventional reduction technique with great post-reduction films...

When a patient tries to leave AMA...

When trauma asks if we're going to accept the patient.  'maybe in the future, but...

When my attending walks in in the morning and I have 6 operative cases for them...
